In a press conference earlier this week, Nintendo talked about the release dates of several titles, including the much anticipated The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword.
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, hitting shelves November 20, will be available in a “special limited-edition” bundle which includes a gold Wii Remote Plus controller. But don’t let the word “gold” fool you. Nintendo attached this disclaimer to the release: “Note that the gold controller will simply be gold in color and will not contain any actual precious metals.”
Damn you Nintendo! I wanted to wield a solid gold Wii Remote Plus! Though, I’m not sure how safe it would be to swing around a 20 pound Wii Remote. But still…
Skyward Sword will also be available in a regular, non-gold Wii Remote version. But, in celebration of Zelda’s 25th year, fans who purchase any copy of the game early will receive a Zelda music CD containing orchestral versions of several well-known Zelda tunes.
The Skyward Sword bundle will retail for $69.99 while the non-gold Wii Remote version will retail for $49.99 (both versions will receive the music CD).
Also announced by Nintendo was Tetris: Axis for the Nintendo 3DS, available October 2, and Professor Layton and the Last Specter for the Nintendo DS, available October 17.
