Pre-order Trine 2, get beta access

The beta consists of two multiplayer levels that will be playable until the game is released.

Trine 2 is set to be released in December, 2011 and is now available to pre-order on Steam for $14.99. Not a bad price to pay for some co-op goodness.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution Mac Release

Mac users to get Deus Ex: Human Revolution this winter

Thanks to Feral Interactive, Mac users will be able to play Deus Ex: Human Revolution on their systems sometime this winter.

Feral Interactive has ported several other PC titles to the Mac including BioShock, Borderlands, and the Black & White series. They have done an excellent job with porting these titles, so let’s hope they do the same with Human Revolution.

An exact date for the port hasn’t been announced, but it could be released anytime during the 2011/12 winter season (Q4 2011/Q1 2012).

Diablo III Beta Open

Diablo III beta just around the corner, no NDA

Blizzard decided to break their silence about a Diablo III beta by telling VG247 that they are “getting very close to starting the closed public beta test for Diablo III.”

We all hope that “very close” means “very close,” especially since Blizzard has already stated that they want to release Diablo III this year.

Blizzard went on to tell VG247 that those who play the beta will be “free to show, share, or talk about any portion of the beta content to which you have access, as this beta test is not confidential.”

This is actually pretty uncommon, as most betas require players to agree to a non-disclosure agreement (NDA), restricting them from sharing screenshots and information about the game.

So if you haven’t already, sign into your Battle.net account and change your “Beta Profile Settings” so you have a chance to get into the Diablo III beta. If you need more detailed information on how to sign up for the beta, check out the Diablo III beta opt-in FAQ.

Check out the official Diablo III beta announcement for more information on the upcoming beta.

Minecraft challenges Bethesda

Notch revolutionizes legal system, challenges Bethesda to Quake 3 tournament

Notch lays down the gauntlet in order to avoid dealing with Bethesda’s lawsuit. His solution? Playing them at their partner studio’s (Id Software) game, Quake 3.

Bethesda’s recent lawsuit over the word scrolls has made a stamp in video game news over the last two weeks. Notch, not wanting to let us go too long without our legal news fix, posted the following on his blog today:

“I challenge Bethesda to a game of Quake 3. Three of our best warriors against three of your best warriors. We select one level, you select the other, we randomize the order. 20 minute matches, highest total frag count per team across both levels wins.”

“If we win, you drop the lawsuit.”

“If you win, we will change the name of Scrolls to something you’re fine with.”

I’m crossing my fingers for a Minecon Quake 3 trial live on stage, while tort attorneys everywhere are watching for Bethesda’s response with worry.
