The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Will Have Unlimted Quests

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim can be played forever

In an interview on Wired.com, Skyrim director Todd Howard talked about the game’s Radiant quest system.

The Radiant quests system creates an unlimited number of quests based on your current progression in the game. The player may be sent to kill a monster in an unexplored area of the world or be asked to collect a rare plant. These quests are randomly generated and the player will never run out. The new questing system will also allow players to obtain unlimited quests from each of the game’s factions. After you complete the core quests for a specific faction, random quests will be generated indefinitely.

This system gives players a chance to explore the massive world of Skyrim with an objective. “The world is probably the one thing that sets [Skyrim] apart from other games,” said Howard, “It feels really real for what it is… It’s just fun to explore.”

So if you were worried about running out of things to do in Skyrim, you should feel a lot better. Because, you know, you can play the game forever.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim will hit shelves November 11, 2011.
